Adventures in Toddlerland
The past two months have been a blast! I've been practising talking a lot and now can say several useful sentences, including "What are you doing?", "Where did Daddy (or whomever) go?", "I need that!", and "Come on, Mommy!" (or just "come" or "Go!"). Despite my amazing ability to express myself, though, my parents seem to lag behind in comprehension. Take this morning, for example, when I stood in front of the fridge repeating "cake" over and over again (Mom's leftover birthday cake is in there). And yet, no response from Mommy. Oh well, I did get to have a strawberry banana milkshake later in the day, and then, for supper, something new: Kraft Dinner! (thanks to one of Mom's pregnancy cravings). Wow! What an amazing food; I could have kept eating it all night!
Last weekend, Mom and I went to Medicine Hat with Grandma and Grandpa Newman to visit with Auntie Wendy and Uncle Murray and cousin Tate, as well as Uncle Tavis. We had a great time, and Tate and I got along famously. He let me play with all of his toys and even ride the rocking horse Grandpa built him. We also went swimming, went to kindergym, and played at the park. It was so much excitement packed into one weekend that I'm still catching up on my sleep. (Today, after lunch, I asked Mommy to put me right to bed; I didn't even want a story, I was so tired. And then I slept for 3 hours and 15 minutes - a new record!)
I have also been practising my leadership skills lately, trying to get people to do what I want, when I want, and even using a little emotional manipulation to motivate them. I only wish people were better followers. Can you believe it? They try to get me to say "please" all the time when I want something!
Anyway, that's just a quick update for now. I'll try to keep you posted on other new exciting things in my life as they happen (I think there's gonna be a new baby around here soon, because Mommy keeps talking about one hiding in her tummy, and she's getting pretty big!)
See ya!
